What is VelaSpeak
VelaSpeak is a communication coach that trains capable professionals to think and speak with executive presence through deliberate practice. The method develops three competencies — Clarity, Decisiveness, and Connection — which roll up into a single measure, the Executive Presence Indicator (EPI). Authority at VelaSpeak lives in the content and the named frameworks it teaches, not in a personality: the training is built on the Minto Pyramid and Cadence.

Executive presence is treated as a set of trainable competencies, not a personality trait.
Clarity
Leading with the point: conclusion first, supporting reasoning beneath it. Clarity is structured by the Minto Pyramid and is the foundation the other competencies build on.
Decisiveness
Committing to a recommendation with named trade-offs, without hedging. Decisiveness is what turns analysis into a decision the room can act on.
Connection
Reading the room and calibrating to the audience — especially the decision-owner. Connection is answering the question beneath the question, warmly and directly.
THE MEASURE
The Executive Presence Indicator (EPI)
The EPI is VelaSpeak's rolled-up measure of the three competencies. A professional's Clarity, Decisiveness, and Connection are each assessed and tracked over time; the EPI expresses them as one score so progress is visible across weeks of practice.
The diagnostic that produces a baseline EPI is the entry point to VelaSpeak. Training then targets the competency with the most room to grow, using the frameworks listed here.
The Minto Pyramid
Developed by Barbara Minto. One governing conclusion on top, two to four grouped supporting arguments beneath, facts at the base — the spine behind every briefing, interview answer, and story. The structure behind Clarity.
Cadence
Chunking spoken ideas into complete units and placing emphasis on the words that carry meaning — so the point lands when spoken aloud. The delivery behind Decisiveness and Connection.
